2004

  • $500,000 donation to Korea University for the establishment of the Endowed Chair Professorship in Life Science and Biotechnology at Korea University. The initial chair will be given to Dr. Park, Jungsuh Kim. Dr. Park is the first scientist to find G-style Liver Cancer Virus and medicine for C-style and E-style Liver Cancer Medicine.
    Dr. Park joined as a professor at KU College of Life Science. The establishment of this Endowed Chair Professorship was made with a grant from Bently Pressurizing Company of Ohio.

CONFERENCE

  • December 2001

    • Topic: Korea-U.S. Alliance in an Era of Newly Emerging Global Threat: Current Dynamics and Future Prospects
    • Organizer: Korea University
    • Sponsor: IFKU, Dong-A Ilbo, and two Korean Conglomerates.
    • Location: Georgetown University, Washington, D.C.
    • Participants: Over 40 globally well-known scholars on Asian policies. Some participants/invited guests were Condoleezza Rice, the U.S. Presidential National Security Advisor, Victor Cha, Asian specialist and professor at Georgetown University. Also several assistant secretary level U.S. officials from the State and the Defense Departments, as well as known scholars and Ambassadors / or their representatives from Russia, China, Japan, Hungary. Also, 15 professors from various universities from Korea, including Korea University Chancellor, Mr. Jung-Bae Kim were in attendance.

      The two day conference focused on the relationship between North Korea and South Korea as well as the global impact of current Korean political issues. The conference had many formal presenters which were followed by a full scale discussion forum.
